In 2022, Skokie Community Foundation (SCF) awarded a grant to Out Our Front Door (OOFD) and Emily Oaks Nature Center to start The Youth Unbound Camp, a summer biking and camping experience for students with disabilities and students who would not otherwise receive such opportunities.
At a ceremony held on January 26th, Bradley Fisher and Out Our Front Door received the Circle of Excellence Award from the Illinois Parks and Recreation Association (IPRA) for The Youth Unbound Camp! SCF Board Member Randy Roberts joined Bradley Fisher, Glenn Schneider (OOFD), and Nicole Derrig (Maine-Niles Association of Special Recreation/M-NASR) at the award ceremony.
The Circle of Excellence Award is presented to organizations that work in conjunction with members of the Therapeutic Recreation Section for either an outstanding ongoing program or a one-time special event. M-NASR nominated Bradley Fisher and Out Our Front Door for their work on The Youth Unbound Camp and the award committee selected them as the ideal recipient for the award.
Congratulations to Bradley Fisher and Out Our Front Door! SCF is extremely proud to have funded this project and the impact it made on the lives of Skokie youth.
