Skokie Community Foundation Bids Farewell To Three Founding Board Members

It was a bittersweet Board of Directors meeting on June 9 as Skokie Community Foundation bid farewell to three of our founding board members – Gene Griffin, Zach Williams, and Howard Meyer (not pictured).

There are no words to fully express the impact they have had on Skokie through Skokie Community Foundation. From an initial idea between Gene and Karen Griffin, to the leadership Zach Williams brought during his tenure as Board Chair, to the support Howard Meyer gave as a community leader, and so much more, they guided SCF into the organization it is today.

We feel so honored to continue their legacy, grow the foundation, and support Skokie’s future.

Thank you to Gene, Zach, and Howard for laying the groundwork. “If you’re going to live, leave behind a legacy. Make an impact on the world that can never be erased.” – Maya Angelou
