Expand the number of grants awarded!
Your dollars help us fund new and innovative programs that benefit Skokie. Here’s how you’ve already made an impact:

- Created a biking and camping program for Skokie teens with disabilities or financial need. Learn more.
- Gave Skokie middle school libraries access to multi-lingual books. Learn more.
- Helped keep hundreds of Skokie residents in their homes. Learn more.
- And more! Thanks to you, we’ve awarded more than $288,000 in grants since 2015. Many of these grants provided the initial funding for projects that continue to serve Skokie well past their grant year, such as this program that provides healthcare vouchers for D69 students. Expand the number of grants awarded!
Create a rapid response emergency fund.
In 2020, Skokie Community Foundation collaborated with the Village of Skokie on the ‘Skokie Spirit Shines Through‘ campaign to support residents financially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. In light of other urgent community needs (such as the February 2025 Water Main Break), Skokie Community Foundation acknowledges the need to create an emergency fund that can be used to support community members impacted by local emergencies.
Award Community Micro-grants.
The more you give, the more we can give! When we achieve $1 Million for Skokie, we can create a micro-grant program outside of our yearly grant cycle. These micro-grants can support smaller, community projects as they pop up!
Provide more support to Skokie non-profit organizations.
We have BIG goals to create training opportunities, leadership programs, and volunteer recruitment support to our network of community partners.
Skokie Health Equity Network
Expand the Skokie Health Equity Network, providing a stable foundation to address Skokie’s healthcare needs.
